I was not aware that Gershwin had written musicals by the names of "let the drums roll out" and "let the trumpet call". I'll check those out. Thanks guys!

Have any of you guys actually seen the entire "Porgy & Bess"? It's VERY long, and very tedious in places. (Well, duh... it is an opera, after all! ;-) Too bad Gershwin died so young... imagine the compositions he never had a chance to write! "Crazy For You" is great, but "Strike Up The Band" is a colossal bore. Has anybody heard the show "Oh, Kay"? Most of his musicals are very dated and hard for today's audiences to relate to. Which is probably the reason only a handful are still performed. I wonder if the same will apply to Webber, Sondheim, et al. (Just think about Rogers/Hammerstein & Lerner/Loewe!) (John... am I coming across as the Alistair of this forum? ;-)
