We will be doing the musical Showtune. This will be our next Showstoppers. Showtune has also been known as Tune the Grand Up and The Best of Times. From Wikipedia: The forty songs featured in Showtune are juxtaposed into thematic scenes and song cycles, placing a strong emphasis on Herman's lyrics and their optimistic messages. This format helps create sub-texts which give dramatic through-lines to the show, making Showtune unique among musical revues.Shows this revue covers the best of Jerry Herman's musicals, including: Mame Mack & Mabel Hello, Dolly! La Cage aux Folles Dear World A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine Milk and Honey The Grand Tour So...the plot for our show goes as this: It has been about 60 years since the grand Gershwin performances at the Naughty Baby, it is now circa 1980, and the nightclub has gone through some rough times and P.A. Newman's son is planning to turn it into a mall. The "ghosts" of the past come back to perform a show and show Newman's son just how legendary the nightclub was and the nightclub gradually transforms back into its former glory.

Not for much longer, I imagine. You must keep in mind that a good deal of the cast are seniors, and have undoubtedly been quite busy with school work/college auditions/raising money/etc., and the rest are usually involved with shows throughout the year, which is QUITE time-consuming. As for myself, I've been incredibly busy this year, and simply not motivated enough to post here if nobody else is. I imagine that this place will be busy again when SS'06 starts, and it will probably be a requirement that everyone in the cast joins. This is probably the most convenient way to send important announcements to the cast, for instance, because emails often get lost through technical difficulties. So... we'll see.
