Hello all,
Well, the viewing party was s'wonderful. Shall we run through the highlights of the event?
1. Well of course, B-Rad was finally introduced to Bohemian Rhapsody (known affectionately as "Bo-rhap" by Queen fans) and at one point I attempted to play along with the recording by memory, which, at certain times sounded... interesting.
2. Oh, and I was introduced to the polka arrangement of Bo-rhap by Steve. I can't really describe what I thought of it, but let's just say that it took a great song and ruined all of it's best parts. It was pure genius, however - especially the ending!
3. Brady's sightreading of Sorabji's 2nd Piano Concerto was excellent - I for one, never knew she could play like that!
4. "Showstoppers, breaking the law since 2005!" 'nuff said. Good one, Ricky.
5. G&D provided some great laughs. "Sit Down" was painful in a hilarious way... actually, it wasn't as bad as most of us originally expected.
6. Gershwin was incredible... except for the fact that you couldn't hear the $#(%IN PIANO!! Adam's bass was also turned up louder than the singers. At least you could hear me in my solos, which I actually didn't think were too horrible. Maybe the many mistakes I made weren't as obvious as I thought!
7. Wicked was... well, what is there to say?? Wicked was unbelievable. Still some sound problems, but it was still a great performance.
8. Anyway, after watching the movie, we all returned upstairs, and Brady had "stumbled upon" Seasons of Love in my binder for the Actorsingers Show Choir. She didn't have to tell me to play it, because anybody who knows that song's effect on crowds will know that if you have the sheetmusic in front of you, you simply can't resist playing it and having everyone in the room burst into song. Naturally, that is what happened. We practically shook the house!
All in all, it was a great party. It was nice seeing all of you again!
